Just a collection of poems I've written lately.
In chronological order from oldest to newest.

Have you ever spontaneously hugged someone you didn't know? Or received an unexpected embrace from a stranger?

View other answers

... Yes.
I was having a really crappy day, and Chad Jeter randomly hugged me on the way to Geometry.
It was only a few weeks after that happened that he died, actually. :/

Writer's Block: You Wouldn't Understand

Almost everyone coins or uses expressions that make sense to only a few people. What word or phrase do you use most often that you have to explain the meaning of to others?

View other answers

Oh, wow. Sooo many... But I think my favorite EVER is "kick-ass early." :)

Writer's Block: Back to School

What fictional high school—from tv, film, or a book—would you most like to attend? Or would you rather never go near high school again, fictional or otherwise?

High school can suck it.
... But if I /had/ to choose, John Adams High doesn't seem so bad.
Plus, it had the most BA teacher everrr: FE-HE-HE-HEENEH! :)

Writer's Block: Shops Gone By

Woolworths shut its doors in the U.K. last week, sending many into a frenzy of nostalgia and bargain shopping. What now-closed store or chain do you wish was still open?

View other answers

Oh, God. Briley's Coffee. It was a local place, and it closed when my town got a friggen Starbucks. xP
I miss the adorable little ladybugs they put on top of the lids. My mom had one on her volume control in the station wagon; it's gone now, of course... I was really sad when she didn't salvage it when my parents went to take a look at the car after the wreck.

Now onto the regular post...

Jeremy called me earlier. He's actually still been calling every night since we broke up... I feel kinda weird talking to him every night. He's the only person that I've had a conversation with on consecutive nights for any length of time.

At school, he seems like he's fine. He's got a smile on his face. He's not just shutting himself away from everybody... But I know it's just an act. I know I hurt him really badly, and I know he desperately wishes we were still together. I think that it might be driving him to be super clingy like this, and I feel terrible about it... But on the other hand, I don't want to string him along and give him any ideas that I might change my mind anytime in the immediate future. Because I know I'm not going to change my mind, as much as it sucks being single again.. Especially after someone who was always so amazing to me.

I want to stay his friend... But I don't know how to cut him off just the /tiniest/ bit without pissing him off or making him feel worse. :/

...And while we're on the topic of boys, let me tell you about my weekend and the presence of Javed in it.

I've known Javed since middle school, but we never really talked to each other until recently. Christy and him have become really good friends, and we started talking to each other whenever the three of us (and often Travis and/or Kyle as well) hung out together. In the past couple of weeks, we've been talking a lot on MySpace. We've gotten to know each other better; Javed's a really interesting and fun guy to talk to. I enjoy talking to him because he's got such a different perspective on the world... And I think I can safely say we're pretty decent friends by now.

Well. I was talking to Kyle last week in tech theatre, and he said there's a good chance Javed likes me. He hasn't talked to either Travis or Javed about it, but Kyle's been one of his best friends for years. (Travis is, of course, the other one) And I trust his judgement on this: if Kyle thinks Javed probably likes me, then I think it's safe to give about a 95% chance that Javed likes me. And only to further suggest the validity of this point, Javed just about refused to let me pay for anything when we went out to lunch and to see Benjamin Button together yesterday. I had gotten twenty bucks from my parents to pay for my share of the day, even. And I didn't spend any of it.

Actual conversation we had while walking away from the ticket counter:

Me I could've bought my own ticket, y'know.
Javed I know. It's just easier to get both at once.
Me You really didn't have to, though.
Javed I don't have to do anything that I do. I just do what suits me.

I dunno what to do... Though seeing as Javed hasn't confessed his undying love for me or anything, it's quite possible that Kyle and I are just being completely paranoid and reading way too much into things... :P

And on a different, though related, note:
Since when am I so liked by guys? I honestly don't understand it.
I'm not always the nicest person to be around. I'm damn indecisive and often rather wishy-washy. I still don't think I'm all that attractive, though I do feel lots better about my looks these days than I used to. I just don't get why guys are into me.
If someone could explain it to me, I will be forever grateful.

OHHHH, and Bailey - you must go see Benjamin Button at some point. It was excellent; you will love it. :)

Ugh.

Something that Anne Le, Rebecca Vilarreal, and Ryan have all done.
... It's pretty darn accurate.

--

You are feeling exhausted, worn out, drained. You feel that far too much is being asked of you but you still want to overcome these difficulties and establish yourself despite the effect such an effort seems to have on you. You are a proud person, assertive most of the time, but at this particular moment you are acting as if you have become resigned to the situation. What you need is some tender loving care - a gentle pat on the head (or maybe a 'kick-up-the backside') and then you'll be raring to go.

You need an atmosphere of peace and quiet and you would like to share a bond of understanding with the 'right person' - you have the belief that with the right person, your stress and anxiety could be minimised.

You are trying to break away from the mundane existence that you have been experiencing of late. You have many high hopes and ideals but you are concerned whether circumstances will allow you to realise these ambitions. You want to spread your wings - to broaden your fields of activities - but you are concerned that your dreams are just that - 'dreams' which are not realistic. It concerns you that you are not thinking clearly at this time - what you need is to get away from it all, to give you time to think. A short vacation could well restore your confidence.

You are being unduly influenced by the situation that is all around you. You do not like the feeling of loneliness and whatever it is that seems to separate you from others. You know that life can be wonderful and you are anxious to experience life in all its aspects, to live it to the full. You therefore resent any restriction or limitations that are being imposed on you and you insist on going it alone.

You are trying to build up your own position and you resist all external influences. You insist that you are your own person and you will not tolerate any outside interference. Decisive and proud, you are true managerial material.

Yeah.
I just felt like posting that.

It's a tie, and they're actually both from this year:
$30 to put towards going to see Legally Blonde at Dallas Summer Musicals next July with Christy, Liz, Alisha, Anna, and Ashley. We're all so excited - we can't stop listening to the soundtrack. x]
An absolutely gorgeous cross necklace that Jeremy got me, despite the fact I insisted that he not get me anything at all.

Newsflash: Katy is, in fact, still alive and well!
For those of you that were somehow still unaware, I've been grounded from my laptop for ages.
But my mom let me use it today, and I think I may have it back for good. :)

My Christmas was pretty nice. My family went with a bunch of people from church to feed the homeless in Dallas that morning, and then I spent the rest of the day at Christy's house, and I took bunchessssss of pictures..
Lots of which are available for viewing on my devART, of course. ^^ It was ooooodles of fun.

I finally got to see Jeremy yesterday. :) I spent the afternoon hanging out at his house.
He took me down to the creek by his house... But there was another couple sitting at the best crossing point making out,
and we're like, "Well.... This is awkward." So we just went back to his house after that. x]
Thennnn we played Rock Band! :D I've missed playing drums sooo much. (Matt managed to break our foot pedal. Ugh.)
We eventually got sick of playing Rock Band ("Green Grass and High Tides" will do that to you..)
so Jeremy started playing Madden '08. He played as the 49ers and beat the complete crap out of the Raiders. :)
... Then his mom decided we needed to go out to eat. She almost took us to PF Chang's,
but I was like, "No, that's too expensive! Pei Wei's just as good.. And not expensive..."
So we went to Pei Wei. And it was super yummy... And I kicked Jeremy's butt at Yatzee on his new iTouch. :)
After dinner, we went back to his house and started watching Prince Caspian...
I couldn't stop complaining about Caspian/Susan. >__>
... Okay, we didn't actually watch Prince Caspian. I was watching it, and Jeremy was looking at me while I watched it.
........ And I didn't actually watch the whole thing. I only watched about half of it.
................ Because other stuff happened during the second half. :) lol
Buuuut anyway. It was so much fun. I love hanging out with my baby. :)

I'll update this thing again in a few days... With quotes from the quote notebook of New Year's goings on. :)

<3

Yes, I know.

momentous
It's been a while.
But my mom's laptop is here, the other three human members of my family are out, and frankly, I NEED to update this thing.

I got a letter from an art college in Detroit today - College for Creative Studies, or CCS.
The opening statement caught my attention.

College is more than hard work. It's lifelong friendships, little sleep, Ramen Noodles, roommates, cafeteria food, and the best four years of your life.

1/3 of the second sentence in a letter from a college is about food?
There must be a catch - that's simply far too good to be true. xD

... I updated my dA some the other night. I felt quite accomplished, haha

I also got my teeth cleaned today. They're all white and sparkly and yay. :D

Last Saturday marked one month for Jeremy and me... I juss so happeeee. :]
He invited me over on Friday for a second Thanksgiving. (His cousin can't make it Thursday)
... I kinda wanna go. And that makes me a just liiiittle bit nervous coz I have no great love for ONE Thanksgiving a year.
Don't get me wrong - it's a fun holiday, and I do like having an excuse to pig out to my heart's content.
It's just such a physically taxing holiday...

Buuuuuuut I don't even know if I would be allowed to go.
My mom says I'm grounded, but I don't think my dad backs her up on it. I'm very confused. :P

I think I'm gonna go update my dA some more and then attack my Tumblr and Twitter.
I love my Interwebs. *huggles*

... I think the creative emoticon is my favorite.
I like the way it spazzes out. :D

So at the high school I *would've* gone to had I stayed in California, the senior class take a trip to WaterWorld every year.
My friends Anny and Hannah both confirmed going on the Facebook event page, so I thought I'd take a peek at the details.

"The forecast for next Tuesday in Concord is a burning 89 & sunny, what perfect weather!"

Us Californians and our silly 'burning' 89 degree weather, haha

Yeah... So I just found it hysterical that I used to think that was really hot
when I would absolutely kill for 89 degree weather during band now. xD

In other news, Casey Clements is in my English class! :D
We had a very... *interesting* conversation about religion today. :]

.... Is it sad that I've already said all the interesting things that happened today? :P

Guess that means it's time for some shameless self-promotion:

girls
First day was alright.

1. Music Theory AP - Mr.
Pedigo
This class is amusing simply because more than half the class is band kids. xD Mr. Pedigo is simply amazingggg. I think he's gonna be my favorite. And I'm suuuuuper excited for the two trips we get to take. They're gonna be fun... Music Theory is gonna be my favorite class ever.
:D

2. Tech Theater I - Mr.
Elms
Mr. Elms is kinda.... off.
I can't place my finger on it, but something's weird about that guy. Buuuuut I'm really excited for the class itself.
I can't wait to work on the Footloose set in Novemberrr!

3.
US History - Coach Allen
.... Eh. Coach seems nice enough, but the way he phrases things is really annoying. I'm totally gonna own this class, though.
:D

4. Algebra II - Mrs.
Kahn
Mrs.
Kahn has the weirdest accent ever. Seriously. She obviously was raised in India, but she went to school in New York, so she has this weird India mixed with NYC thing going on. And she seems like the kind of teacher that knows what she's doing but doesn't know how to explain it to anyone else. Wooooonderful.

5. Chemistry I - Mrs.
Bordere
Ugh. Sooooo boring. Noooot a good speaker.
And she went on and on and on about how you can apply chemistry to all sorts of careers and what have you, and it's like "Lady, shut up! I don't think you've noticed, but nobody's listening to you!" >__<

6. Band - Mrs.
Harvey
Pretty much what I expected... But Albert's not happy with Morgan, Allison, and me because we took the front row.
:D Bahhhaha

7. English 3 Honors - Mrs.
Stewart
Arsen is in this class. FAIL. D: But other than that, it's pretty good... Sitting next to Alex is going to be interesting. xD Not sure what to make of Mrs. Stewart yet. She's kinda weird, too, though a different kind of weird than Mr. Elms...

Not pleased

  • Aug. 24th, 2008 at 8:40 PM
wild
that school starts tomorrow. D:

At least there's Flower Mound and Hot Nastia Liukin's parade to look forward to. xD

In other news, Christy and I were extremely giggly today. 'Twas quite fun.
She came with my family to Cracker Barrel after Bartimaeus today.
I swear, Christy, my dad, and I are all the same person, but in 3 different bodies. :D

The ride home was... Interesting.
Christy had me listen to a bunch of songs that she stole off Brittney Hamby's iPod.
...... There's a lottttt of super awkward stuff on Christy's iPod now. xD

So,

Care to reminisce about some favorite (or not so favorite) summer memories?

View other answers

I've got a few... *Mostly reverse chronological order*

1. Stina's birthday at Bee's old house! That was the first time I'd hung out with 'the family' outside of school.
...... Choosing to skip of the cheesy part and go right to Stina and Bee renewing their vows in the pool. xD

2. Getting to see Jacob and Anny the last two times I went to California! <3 Jacob is my very best friend out of all my friends in California. We've been through a lot of stuff together, and I know he's always gonna be there for me. (Partially because I'm convinced some part of him still has a crush on me, bahhhaha) And Anny is just so much fun to be around. She's crazy and nice and speaks her mind no matter the consequences. It was amazing to get to hang out with both of them and catch up.

3. Surprisingly, the road trip we took when we moved out here. Yeah, it sucked being stuck next to a stir-crazy Matthew, especially going through Kansas and the Painted Desert, where there is NOTHING to distract you outside the car (20 minutes into going through Painted Desert, everything starts looking exactly the same to you; it sucksss)... But I got to see so many amazing things on that road trip. It was the first time (And only time..) I'd been to Vegas and staying in New York, New York made me want to see what NYC is REALLY like. We got to go to a Native American reservation called Sky City. It was so cool walking through the town because all the buildings were pueblos; it was kind of unreal. And I ended up talking to a girl who was only a few years older than me about what life is like on the reservation. I don't remember her name, but she was so excited to talk about her life there. She said she had friends outside of the reservation, and I remember asking if she ever got jealous of everything they had that she didn't. She told me, "Yeah, I get jealous sometimes. We don't really have a chance to play video games, watch TV, or even go to the movies very often out here. We're kind of isolated. But then I remind myself that I'm part of something that hardly anybody else is. They've got all their stuff, and all their friends have the same stuff, but what I have is truly unique." ...... She was pretty incredible. :] .... Also on the trip, I got to go to the Hoover Dam for the first time. Talk about massive. It was also the first time I went to Albuquerque, and I completely fell in love with it.

4. Cruise around the border of Alaska with Matt and my grandparents... I honestly have no words for how beautiful Alaska is. I saw glaciers for the first time. I saw wild bald eagles, humpback whales, and grizzly bears for the first time. I was taken through the woods by a dog sled team whose owner participates in the Iditarod every year. I drank the purest water imaginable; there was a water fountain on a hike we took that used runoff from the ice on the mountains. I got to go kayaking (for the first time) in the ocean. It was utterly mind-blowing.

... I'll stop boring you all now. xD

SCHEDULEEEE!... And other things.

Because Ryan specifically asked. :D
1.
Music Theory 2(?) AP - Pedigo
2. Tech.
Theater 1 - Elms - suuuuper excited :D
3.
US History - Allen
4.
Algebra 2 - no teacher yet
5. Chem.
1 - no teacher yet
6. Band - Says Harvey, but I thought it was Brennan? Oh well.

7. Eng. 3 H - Stewart

Yeah, not sure why it says Music Theory 2, but we'll get that worked out.

Andddd originally, they had me in 7th period band, which is the percussion class.
So I went to the table to work it out. They pulled out the list of band kids and what
period we're all supposed to be in. I saw my name, and it said 6th period by it,
and I'd just told this lady that I was supposed to be in that class.

Then she uttered the stupidest statement I think I've ever heard:
"Well, do you play percussion?"
Uh, no? I wouldn't be complaining about being in the percussion class if I played percussion,
not to mention the fact that it freaking says on your paper right there that I'm supposed to be in 6th period.

And we wonder why our generation is growing up to all be completely retarded.

ANYWAY, lemme know if we have classes together~! :]

And now for something completely different!

I hung out with Christy today! We went to three different creeks and I took a crap load of pictures on her camera. <3

Thennnn while we were at the third creek, Christy started talking to Javed,
and Javed wanted to know if we wanted to go see a movie called Henry Poole is Here.
I realllly wanted to see it, but we ended up being 15 minutes late, even though Javed
drove like a madman the entire way to Firewheel. >__> So we ended up sitting on
a bench by the fountain area for like two hours. xD It was pretty awesome.
Javed's an...... Interesting guy to talk to, haha :]

Anyway. I'll stop boring you all now. >__>
